A Retrospective to Art History
A Throwback to the History of Art
Meet the Art Masters, a journey through the history of the best and well known artists is presented as you go through the years below. A collection of chronological, geographical, and thematic exploration of global art history.
While exploring each artist we will learn what inspired him / her, what method and materials they have used and under which circumstances they have been influenced.
A throwback to the history will reveal the different types of art that has emerged from the different innovators and masters of art.
Claude Monet was a famous French painter whose work gave a name to the art movement Impressionism, which was concerned with capturing light and natural forms. He was one of the founders or the Impressionism movements along with Renoir, Sisley and Bazille.
Matisse pioneered a revolutionary use of color and form, refusing to accept that color must reflect the real world. Matisse moved around the wheel, using jarring colors to quickly become a ‘bad boy’ of French art. Beginning with the decorative panels, Matisse really started to develop his own voice as an artist.
Pablo Picasso was an innovative artist who experimented and innovated throughout the years. He was a master painter but also a sculptor, printmaker, ceramics artist, etching artist and writer. His work matured from the naturalism of his childhood through Cubism, Surrealism and beyond, shaping the direction of modern and contemporary art through the decades.
